Welcome to Cavendish's school Governors Page

On behalf of the Governors I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Cavendish Primary School.

Our aim here at Cavendish Primary school is to ensure that all children are given the opportunity to reach their fullest potential, both academically and socially, and are part of a successful learning community that prepares them for the future. We are proud of our children and our caring, nurturing staff who work hard to support children’s overall development.

Our role as Governors is to work with the leadership team to ensure that Cavendish provides a good quality education for your child in an environment where they feel safe and secure.

As well as ensuring the school’s statutory obligations are met, we are involved in reviewing and monitoring objectives, planning for the future and making sure the vision for the school is both challenging and realistic. It is the responsibility of the Acting Head to run the school, however, it is the role of the Governing Board to support the leadership team and hold them accountable for the wellbeing, safety and performance of children and staff.

Our Governors bring with them a range of different skills and experiences. As a group, we have parents, representatives of the local community and people with expertise in education, safeguarding and business. Decisions are taken by the whole Governing Board which meets six times per year.

We feel privileged to be part of the Cavendish Primary School community and very much appreciate the contribution and continuing support of our parents and carers – thank you!

Debbie Potter
