Our Enterprise Leaders

The school’s Enterprise leaders (Ellie, Finley, Leo and Natasha)  recently took part in the Badger’s Sett Challenge as part of Global Enterprise Week. Hosted by Hull City Council, and taking place at the Guildhall, our team pitched their idea for a new school mascot to a judging panel during the Primary finals. Confidence was high, with one pupil quoted as saying, “We smashed it”, and this confidence was well founded as the team won first place and a prize of £300. They were also invited back to pitch at the overall finals, also held at the Guildhall a fortnight later.

On their return, the team pitched to another panel of judges, this time including Ruth Badger, a finalist on TV’s, “The Apprentice”. Although they didn’t win one of the major prizes this time, the pupils were successful in securing another £200. Congratulations to all the pupils who took part. Production of their idea will begin after Christmas and will be available shortly afterwards.

Entrepreneur Week

On Friday 18th November, 8 children from year 5 and 6 (Natasha, Erin, Ellie, Millie, Finley, Alfie, Jacob and Leo) visited the Guildhall as part of global Entrepreneurship week. One of our activities was to decide what we would like to see in Hull. Our main ideas were a viewing tower and a space centre which includes a zero gravity room (a room were you can pretend you’re in space.)

For a fun activity, every young entrepreneur took part in the mannequin challenge!

The children enjoyed the event and we were impressed with all of their ideas for our city, especially the viewing tower.

Thank you to all of the children who participated.

Please see the attached report from that week.
