Early Birds and Afternoon owls clubs
Caring for children at Cavendish starts before the school day begins with our Early Birds Club. Early Birds opens at 7.30am and runs until the start of the school day and is supervised by school staff.
Whilst Early Birds takes place within our school, every effort is made to make it feel different – we don’t want children to feel they are in lessons at this time of the day.
Children should arrive between 7.30am and 8.15am during which time they will be given a small snack and a drink. To register for Early Birds, a form is available in the school office which must be completed prior to attendance. The cost of this is £3 (or £2.50 if attended from 7.45am) per morning, per child.
Children can now be cared for after school by attending our Afternoon Owls Club based in the hall/community room. Afternoon Owls runs from 3pm – 5.15pm and is managed by Mrs Lazenby, she is sometimes accompanied by Mrs Marshall, Mr Taylor and Mrs Watts and other members of staff. The club is open to all children who are attending Cavendish Primary School.
Every child is provided with a snack and a drink and a range of activities will be provided to keep them entertained. Children will also be given the opportunity to complete homework tasks and learn spellings – if they wish!
The cost per session is £5.00 per child, per night. We ask that bookings are made at least two weeks in advance by filling in the online form.
